Auf vielen Ebenen ist sie ein Paradebeispiel der modernen Klassengesellschaft. Die Filme bewegen sich zwischen dekadentem Vergnügungswahn und altbewährter Scheuklappenmentalität. Sie werfen Fragen auf zur Schiffsreise als kapitalistischer Massentourismus und Statussymbol, aber auch als Nährboden für Parallelgesellschaften und Heucheleien auf einer der gefährlichsten Migrationsrouten der Welt: dem Mittelmeer.
